The paper discusses one of the most sensitive issues associated with human societies within her geopolitical settings. This could be within hierarchy of social class in a heterogeneous society in which there are marked distinctions of class strata or within a homogeneous society in which philosophical adherence to customary norms has become the rule rather than the exception. Conflict Is a socio-political occurrence that is based on an evaluation of ideological options, choice and value system in a particular socio-political setting. In the process of weighing the options in the ideology problem, there is the inherent psychological effect of cost and benefit of the causes of the crisis especially when one of those causes becomes deterrent to solving the problem. The paper is divided into three parts: the concept of conflict, crisis and disorder; mode of conflicts in Nigerian socio-political system; and the sources, functions and management of conflict.
