dc.description.abstractOne of nature's most captivating celestial spectacles is the emergence of a new moon, that sublime moment when darkness surrenders to light, when obscurity gives way to radiance, and when a fresh cycle begins, laden with promise and boundless possibilities. The title of this 20th anniversary convocation lecture, "When the New Moon Rises: Envisioning the Next Horizon of University Education in Nigeria," was conceived approximately seven weeks ago during one of the most remarkable astronomical events of recent times - a blood moon eclipse.
